Another one bites the dust

Yes, Finally moving/moved to Wordpress after a lot of delibration.

Please don't desert me. This is my new link http://colormesunshine.wordpress.com/ so do update your blogroll.

I know, I know, I said I won't be moving in my comments in the previous post because the template in WP does not provide customization without an upgrade. I'm still unhappy about that, but I'm also looking forward to some changes. WP will also eventually evolve. Just today they released WP 2.8 so hopefully one day they give bloggers a little bit more flexibility. I'm sure Blogger will come up with new things too and who knows...i might just move back if this blog address still exist :)

Is'nt life about evolving and discovering and moving on to better things? Better can be subjective and perceived but at least it does sound 'better' :)

So, I'll see you there/here often :)?

To move or not to move

I've been contemplating on moving to wordpress for a really really long time now. I saw many of you move. I said to myself, "I am next". A couple of months ago I even registered "Color me Sunshine" on wordpress and migrated one post, just to get the ball rolling. But I've not been able to move on from here. I've invested so much in blogger. I edited the template so that I have a 3 column instead of the two column. I added code so that I have the option of adding a gadget under the header if I wanted too (not that I ever made use of it). I took pains to figure out how to add the favicon. I like the fact that I can choose my background color in blogger, my text color and font size and type with ease. I'm yet to figure out how to do this in wordpress. Maybe I can change code, but I don't have free time to go exploring now. My banner which has become a sort of brand for me, does not look that great on some of the wordpress templates. I'm considering changing the header image but it's difficult letting go of this one. Anyone has suggestion of a site I can explore to make a header?
Blogger has been my home since 2006. Most importantly, it's a one click log-in through my goggle ID.

On the other hand, I find replying to comments so much more easier in wordpress. It's like a one-on-one conversation. I can create many tabs/pages in wordpress. I find this especially important because then I'll have one page that I can put all the awards you kind bloggers have given me. This also gives me options to add other things in the future. I don't care so much about the ease of use of some of the ready-to-click codes because I can code html to a large extend.

I know many of you have moved from blogger to wordpress. Was there anything in blogger you missed after the move? Is there any functionality in wordpress that irritates you?

I'm still undecided. I'm still here.
Hey there, come back and tell me what you think.

30 questions you might never ask

For lack of a saturday evening plan,
For lack of something interesting on TV,
For lack of interesting conversation,
For lack of a book to read,
For lack of strength and enthusiam to head out of the hotel

I share with you, 30 answers to questions you might never ask.

Thank you "Gentle Whispers" for the Tag. You gave me 30 thoughts in 20 minutes on this empty and boring saturday evening.

Bright room with pleasant colors. Always lifts the mood.

Ladies, will you please do this tag......no offence taken if you don't.
Scribbler:so that she writes more often.
Reflection: because I have never tagged her
D: because she has a very creative way of adding twist to tags and I wonder how she would do this.
Piper: because I miss her and I hope she starts writing again. Even if just to do this tag

Anyone else interested in taking this up, please do so. Let me know when you've done it and I'll hop over to read.

Such is Life

There are certain moments, days and sometimes even weeks when things seem to be going the right way. When the iron didn’t burn a hole in the shirt and the elevator took you straight up to your floor without a stop. The coffee is just the right temperature and the scale shows a favorable number. The two-piece is starting to fit and there is a glimpse of possibility lurking in the horizon.

But life can be a bastard really! No? It can throw a cold shower when the sun is shining bright. It could be waiting round the corner to pounce on you. It can torment you with fear, despair, helplessness, hope, possibilities, uncertainty and desire all at the same time. It can leave you burning with anticipation yet yielding with expectations.

Suddenly, in the flicker of an eye, a millions things could go right and a zillion things could go wrong. Suddenly a life could be born and another life could be on the brink of death.

C'est la vie!

Work and Play

I've been very lazy. There's been lots to write about but little enthusiasm to pen them down. I've been feeling purposeless and the short term goals are getting shorter and shorter.

I am in San Diego, California for 3 months. A combination of work and vacation.

The long memorial day weekend was spend in SFO. The weather was pretty disappointing but the trip to SFO was fun nonetheless. The drive from San Diego to SFO on I-5 was really nice and pleasant. Straight road for miles and miles makes for peaceful driving.
The topography was varied, ranging from the barren land to green fields to vast ocean and lanes strewn with flowers of the season. I was often reminded of the fields along the highway in India with farmer working in the fields and sprinklers watering the crops. For anyone driving along the west coast in California, don't miss out driving along Route 1 (the pacific coast highway). The view is spectacular.

Here are some pictures of the drive from San Diego to SFO.

It does not feel like summer yet and I'm longing to get into my shorts and tees. I'm putting on weight again and this weight fluctuation is irritating me. The flip side of staying in a hotel and complimentary meals. On the brighter side, I have someone making my bed, cleaning the rooms and laying out fresh towels everyday.

I'm looking forward to hitting the beach this weekend and falling asleep in the sun. Hopefully the sun shine bright and lovely. For now, I'll wrap up work and head to the pool. More from me soon. I do plan to be a lot more regular :)
